Pharmacies that a Doctor Would Prescribe.

The Pharmacy Department at Care1st is responsible for overseeing the administration of our plans' pharmacy benefits for members. They also ensure coordination with IPAs and individual providers to assure that the proper medications are being administered as prescribed.

Care1st Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee

This committee is comprised of a multidisciplinary team that meets quarterly to review the Medication Formulary and evaluate the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to Care1st members. In addition to maintain the Formulary, the Care1st Pharmacy Department manages the prior authorizations. This provides a process for physicians and pharmacies to submit requests for medications not currently included in the Formulary.
