Care1st
is contracted with the Local Initiative Health Authority of Los
Angeles County (LA Care) to provide Medi-Cal health benefits to
its Medi-Cal recipients.
To provide the best health care services
and practices, Care1st has an extensive network of Medi-Cal primary
care providers and specialists. Recognizing the rich diversity of
its membership, our providers are given training and educational
materials to assist providers in understanding the health needs
of their patients as it could be affected by a member's cultural
heritage.
Need Advice?
Care1st Member Services department is staffed by trained personnel
who are responsive to your health care needs. A Member Service Representative
will help you understand the plan, as well as assist you in selecting
a Provider. They can also assist you with any issues you may have
regarding your health care, understanding terms, filing a grievance,
or any other questions you may have.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For emergencies, you
can call this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week You can also

Transportation
To arrange for transportation, please call Care1st’s Member
Services department, toll-free, at 1-800-605-2556, Mondays through
Fridays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
