The Road to Success With Care1st

~CMS Do’s and Don’ts~

As many of you know, when selling Medicare products we are marketing to an aging and sometimes debilitated and confused population. One of the few things that many agents forget or sometimes do not adhere to are the CMS guidelines. With that being said, we have some advice that each agent must follow.

The Do’s:
Always remember to identify yourself correctly. So, when you are calling a prospective member, or a Medicare Applicant, Do, state your name, the agency or company you’re calling from and your reason for the call. (i.e. Hi, my name is Mr. Smith, calling from XYZ agency or company and I’m calling today to speak to you about ……...)

The Don’t:
Don’t let there be any confusion about who you are and who you are representing. If you call a prospect member or a Medicare Applicant and tell them that you are calling from: Care1st, Medicare, Social Security, or a Dr’s. Office, you are misrepresenting yourself and the company or agency you are working for and that is a clear CMS violation. Any violation can lead to serious consequences. Look at your prospect as if they were your parents, and ask yourself what would you do for them?
