HealthCare Forum with Dr. David Satcher
The 16th Surgeon General of the United States,
Dr. David Satcher, will be the keynote speaker, Friday, December
6, 2002, for the Care1st Health Plan Healthcare Forum Invitational,
11:00AM to 2:00PM, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown
Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Satcher’s message, “Achieving A
Balanced Community Health Care System” comes as Los Angeles
County braces for closures of county health facilities that have
historically served a disproportionate volume of low to no income
residents.
Sworn in as the 16th United States Surgeon
General, February 13, 1998, Dr. Satcher’s wish is to be
known as the Surgeon General who not only spoke to the American
people, but who also listened and responded to their needs. Dr.
Satcher is only the second person in history to simultaneously
hold the positions of Surgeon General and Assistant Secretary
of Health.
