What is AHCCCS?
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS)
is Arizona’s Medicaid program. AHCCCS was created to
provide health care to those who cannot afford to pay for
health insurance. There are eligibility/income requirements
that an applicant must meet in order to qualify for programs
administered by AHCCCS such as KidsCare, HIFA, SOBRA and
others. AHCCCS provides health care coverage to over 900,000
members, which is almost 16 percent of Arizona’s total
population
Enrollment
Care 1st Health Plan Arizona, Inc. does not enroll you into our plan. You must
first apply for Health coverage through your local DES office, AHCCCS Administration,

Health plan services are funded in part under a contract with the State of
Arizona.
